6:52 pm - RP thread- The Big Reveal

((Figured I'd just start this, if there are no objections? Reply at your leisure.))

When: Morning after May's full moon.
Who: Marauders!
What: The Big Reveal.

The sun was barely risen on May 14th, and already Sirius was up. It wasn't exactly strange- the boy kept odd hours, sometimes sleeping in until evening, sometimes waking while it was still dark and making his roommates suffer for it. He was doing that now, prancing around the dormitory and singing, in a tone both bellowing and tuneless, a song that might have been Yellow Submarine, if one judged based on the words and not the melody.

"And my friiiiiends are all aboard," he belted with feeling as he tugged at a sock. It was a little too small for him, and not grimey enough by far; undoubtedly it belonged to someone else. Sirius did not especially care.

Properly socked, he hurled himself across the room to land heavily on James's bed, centimetres away from crushing the other boy. He propped himself up on his elbows, placed his chin in one hand, and tugged at James's hair with the other. "Oh, Jaaamie," he crooned in a sweet voice that might have made more sense had he not just been bellowing, "Wakey-wakey. We've got to find our weeeerewolf!"

6:09 pm - Journal Entry - May 8

What a change. At this time last year, I was worried about OWLs. At this time next year, I'll be stressed about NEWTs. But for now... For now, I just have to worry about finishing out the year. I'm not going to lie, NEWT classes are mad, but I don't have to worry about those exams until next year.

Oh, and I finally got my Apparating licence. Finally. I'd been after Father for months to take me, and he finally did. That's why I was gone this weekend. I can't practice at school, of course. I can't wait until the next Hogsmeade weekend... I'll be able to show you all.

1:10 am - Journal entry- April 30th, near midnight.

Has anybody got the notes from History of Magic yesterday? I just couldn't pay attention, anyway I had to do my Arithmancy problems and History of Magic is the best place to do that, but I can't do this stupid essay at all without notes and Binns said that if I miss another he'll give me detention every weekend until OWLs and that's just not fair at all! I don't see why a stupid ghost gets to teach anyway, I mean if you're not living how can you possibly understand that there's more to life than essays about the centaur revolutions? It's ridiculous and I wish Daddy would complain to the board but he says Binns is an 'establishment' and we have to respect that. But I absolutely cannot have detention every weekend, Binns makes you do lines. So who wants to let me see the notes?

2:08 pm - RP: Sirius and Cissa

Narcissa Black does not study. Narcissa Black does not care for studying. Narcissa Black, however, is not allowed to fail classes. After a message to her parents from Professor McGonagall, she had been threatened and coerced into studying Transfiguration to the point that she actually might get an A on her OWL, if it were tomorrow. Unfortunately, it isn't, so she has to continue to work on it. She wasn't about to go a whole summer without buying a new wardrobe, and she wouldn't get one unless she got at least an A.

She was taking a break, though. It was Saturday. After taking the morning to learn the newest part (she could now make her snail fade quite a bit as opposed to not at all), she was going to spend this beautiful spring day outside with her friends. She could only study when they were away, or they'd make fun of her, or at least question why, and Cissa just didn't want to put up with that.

Either way, Narcissa Black was taking a study break, and going outside.

Whoever invented OWL tests ought to be transfigured into a newt and fed to a manticore. They just give the Professors a new way to torture us with more homework and lectures about how important they are. How many times has McGoogles told us about how our OWL scores will determine everything for the rest of our bloody lives? I am tired of hearing about it. How can a few bloody exams be that important?

In other news- I've got that thing we need.

Right. Between the bit where he's snogging Evans all the time and the bit where he's got Remus backing out of The Balding Tea, I think our little Snivellus needs to be put back in his place. It is tragic and wrong that he has forgotten that people like him don't mess with Gryffindors. And if not us, who is going to teach him this very essential lesson? It is very much a shame that he hasn't yet learned that if you fuck with a Marauder's head, the Marauders fuck with yours right back. Literally. Har, har. Yes?

Was going to do it myself if I ran into him today but the little weasel is slippery and anyway it's better to do things with friends. More cozy that way.

3:17 pm - RP Thread -- James & Sirius, April 23rd

Who: James Potter & Sirius Black
What: Who did write that "cheeky entry?"
When: April 23rd, during a lazy afternoon
Where: Hufflepuff territory

James shuffled down the steps towards the general direction of the Hufflepuff portrait, with one hand clutching a tiny bouquet of several tulips. The tulips were crisp, kept nicely, and bought from the school’s garden that morning. He even tied a thin ribbon around the stems, complete with a bow – the sort of junk that girls seem to love receiving from blokes.

But this journey was the culmination of an ultimate quest: to find out who the hell was Natalie Leland. Upon reconnecting the journals, he and Sirius came across one of her exploratory writings about all the things she wanted to do to some fellow she knew from the Hogsmeade public system. She was so articulate in explaining the little details of her scandalous daydreams – and needless to say, it piqued James’s curiosity.

Too bad the entire school read her entry too.

The jokes and social controversy that the piece created seemed to be worth investigating. Natalie Leland had been nothing more than a name at first. Then she became Natalie Leland, a seventh-year Hufflepuff, but nothing more. He and Sirius didn’t even know what she looked like.

Of course, rather than consult a yearbook, the best thing to do was to find her physically. Somebody coming in or out of the house would be able to give some direction eventually.

5:19 pm - Journal Entry - 22 April, midday

Well hello there, boys and girls! I won't ask if you missed me, since I'm certain you all did. Anyway, you've undoubtedly gotten to bathe in my actual presence, rather than having to absorb it through my written word.

Just a reminder that dues for the Rabastan Lestrange Fan Club should be sent in before the end of the month. The club picnic will be held in the beginning of May.

About that balding powder and tea... Perhaps it would be best if I didn't know anything more about it. I know it's the end of our 5th year and you want to go out with a bang, please not literally, but right now is not good for me. I don't think I should have anything to with well, anything. Really, it's for the best. Sorry.
[End Private]

I did miss these journals more than I thought. It's nice not having to stop what I'm doing to find someone and ask them a question. OWLs are quickly approaching, and even I'm starting to get tired of revising. Hopefully, I won't become apathetic, but it's my goal to spend this entire weekend outside of the library. Amazing, yeah? I am in desperate need of a break though. There's still more than a month left of school. Plenty of time for a quick review and to possibly help some others.

11:30 am - Journal Entry- April 21, at lunch.

I'd very much like to know why everybody feels the need to insult each other all the time. Or perhaps more to the point, why everybody needs to do it in my journal. I realize nobody is particularly interested in being decent, but isn't it at least possible to not poke at each other in the entries of somebody who's friends with all of you? Life in the middle of the sniping is quite uncomfortable.

Not that I think you should do it anywhere else, either, but really, what have I ever done to you?

And you do of course realize that Potter has told me he won't do that sort of thing in my journal anymore. Which means certain people are being less polite than Potter. Hmm.

I thought it was girls who were supposed to be catty.

2:19 am - Journal Entry, 19th April, 2:19 AM

On sleepless nights such as these, I tend to realise I have often been very stupid.

However, I have the reassuring knowledge that I have never been as stupid as Potter or Black. So, it isn't so bad. I have not sunk that low, at least.

Lads. Lads. Lads! Do you realize that it is almost OWLs? Do you realize that we have planned nothing to scandalize the school in our last hours of untested youthful glory? Not on! I am thinking...fill the dungeons with snakes, see how much they really like them? Yes? Or we fill the breakfast tea with balding powder one day. That's a classic. Thoughts, troops?

[Private to James and Peter]
Also, do you realize that we're about to go a whole entire summer without showing Remus that we are not only brilliant and fabulously talented but also the best mates in the entire world? Nay, galaxy? Nay, UNIVERSE? This is also very much NOT ON. This cannot happen. No. If I have to go all that time in the Black house without the memory of Lupin's utter shock and disapproval at our generous genius, I am going to go stark raving mad. And you know what they do to mad dogs? They shoot them. At least, so I have read. Please pretty please with naked girls on top can we show him soon?

7:46 pm - Logbook Entry: April 16th

Well, these old journals have been left to dry for sometime now! But it seems as if the network has been rescued from permanent disuse. The faculty said that they broke the charms, but it looks like a troublesome pupil managed to get these going again. Just now I opened my trusty logbook and found several entries in the back written by some underclassmen (as well as a rather cheeky one by a seventh-year, although I'm sure that everyone has seen that by now; wow, she must be blushing).

Now I'm going to have to go back to making short little entries that don't reveal my true thoughts and feelings! Woe is me! What will I do?!

I have several errands to run, so if you would excuse me kindly....

2:38 pm - Thread: April 16th, early afternoon

Who: Lily and Edie
What: Randomness ensues.
When: April 16th, between classes.
Where:: Gryffindor Commons

With OWLs quickly approaching, it was a safe bet that for most fifth-year students, the free time between classes was no longer regarded as strictly free. No, there were essays to write, charms to practice, books to study feverishly.

Lily Evans was no exception; in fact, she was one of the worst offenders when it came to over-studying. The hour between History of Magic and Charms found her not in the Great Hall having lunch with her friends but in the mostly-empty Gryffindor common room, curled with her legs under her in a chair in the corner, her Herbology text floating in front of her and a two-foot-long essay on her lap.

Still, not even Ms. Evans could study non-stop, and one of the downsides to skipping lunch was the insistent growling with which her stomach made its displeasure known. The girl stopped scribbling to give the offending organ a menacing look. "Now, see here. I ate quite a lot at breakfast just so you wouldn't complain, and it's not so long until dinner, and this essay is a bit more important than your decision to be a total brat. Shush." The red-head finished her diatribe and glanced around guiltily- if anyone had actually seen her talking to her stomach, she'd probably get dragged off to Madame Pomfrey for a mental check up.

10:27 am - Journal Entry: Febrary 25, morning

Finally, it's the weekend again. It's too bad we can't go to Hogsmeade every Saturday- we got to go last week but that means it will be a long time before another trip. Though Hogsmeade did allow us to stock up on a number of valuable supplies. And this weekend there is the prospect of James' festivities, which will be good I expect. And no classes, which is the best part of every weekend.

11:38 am - Journal Entry -- 17 February (morning)

You know, I never thought I'd be glad for the existance of influenza, but it did give me a lovely excuse to spend so-called "Valentines Day". I don't know why the martyrdom of some dead Roman makes people want to give gifts and act all foolish - it's one of the poorest excuses for a holiday there is, an invention of the Catholic Church to divert the Roman's attention away from celebrating Lupercalia, I read. We'd be much better off running about and stabbing one another in the back, à la Brutus and Ceasar, but no matter. It's a horrible time of year that makes one regret not being encumbered by romantic entanglements. But on the positive side - well, my father gives my mother diamonds every year, and I certainly wouldn't want to waste my money on diamonds for some stupid girlfriend, so that's that. I'm certainly not bitter that no one's given me anything in commeration of the death of some stupid Roman.

But I hope everyone enjoyed their exchanges of gifts of chocolates and flowers and VD and all that nonsense, ha.

In other news, Mme Pomphrey's kicked me out of the infirmary, so I suppose I'm meant to go back to classes, but instead I'm going back to sleep in the dormitory. Someone wake me for dinner, please?
